Eva hot melt adhesive is a 100% solid and fusible polymer that dose not require solvent and contains no moisture. It is a solid at room temperature and can flow when heated to a certain temperature. The melted Eva hot melt adhesive appears as light brown or white. Eva hot melt adhesive consists of basic resin, tackifier, viscosity regulator and antioxidant.
A) Select the appropriate type of adhesive:
- Standard back adhesive (base adhesive) and side adhesive are suitable for writing paper, as are low-weight double-sided adhesive paper (75g and below).
- For high-gram offset paper or coated paper, it is recommended to use coated paperback glue and edge glue.
- Select slow-drying side glue (long opening time) for covers weighing more than 200g. Double-sided covers should use special side glue.
- Sewing the back of the binding glue is a proprietary variety.
- With UV ink printing (UV) or UV oil book block and cover, the above hot melt adhesive varieties can not adapt.
B) Use temperature
- Recommended operating temperature: 150 ~ 170℃ for back glue, 140 ~ 160 ℃ for side glue.
- In winter, the working temperature of the glue pot can be increased by 10 ~ 20 ℃.
- Make a thick book or book block with high grams of paper should also increase the glue temperature to 165 ℃ ~ 180℃ is better.
C) Slotting (slotting or sawing)
- Writing paper, saw hole depth 1.2 ~ 1.5 mm, spacing 4 ~ 7 mm.
- Offset paper, coated paper, saw hole depth 1.2 ~ 2.0 mm, spacing 4 ~ 7 mm.
